Eklingji Temple (22 km from Udaipur)

Built in the 8th century, Eklingji is a sprawling temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva. It consists of 108 intricately carved shrines made from granite and marble. The four-faced idol of Shiva, depicting Him as the ruler of Mewar, showcases both spiritual depth and royal devotion.

🛕 Nagda Temples (23 km from Udaipur)

Once the first capital of Mewar, Nagda now houses the remarkable ruins of the Saas-Bahu Temples from the 10th century. The temples are adorned with exquisite carvings depicting scenes from Hindu mythology and are a fine example of early Rajput temple architecture.

⚔️ Haldighati (45 km from Udaipur)

A legendary battlefield where Maharana Pratap fought the Mughal army in 1576 AD. The region’s soil is tinged yellow like turmeric, giving Haldighati its name (“Haldi” meaning turmeric).
Visit the Maharana Pratap Smarak, Chetak Horse Memorial, and Rakt Talai, each narrating tales of courage and sacrifice.

🕉️ Ranakpur Jain Temple

Built entirely from white marble, it features 1,444 uniquely carved pillars, each different from the other. The temple is dedicated to Lord Adinath and radiates peace and symmetry in every detail.

🏰 Kumbhalgarh Fort

One of the most spectacular forts in Rajasthan, Kumbhalgarh was built by Maharana Kumbha in the 15th century. Surrounded by 36 km of defensive walls (second longest in the world after the Great Wall of China), it served as a refuge for the rulers of Mewar during invasions. The panoramic views from the fort’s ramparts are simply breathtaking.
